Managed Web Presence

A corporate site or portal that somebody owns after launch.

Who it is for

Businesses whose website was built once and then left alone. If a plugin update, an expired certificate or a broken form would currently go unnoticed for days, a managed web presence gives the site a named owner and a routine.

The problem

  • A site nobody maintains after launch
  • No backups or monitoring
  • Changes take weeks

What you get

  • A written maintenance scope: what is monitored, backed up and updated, and how often.
  • Uptime and certificate monitoring with someone assigned to act on alerts.
  • Scheduled security and dependency updates, tested before they go live.
  • A change queue so content and layout requests have a clear turnaround.

How we approach it

  • Monitoring and backups agreed in writing.
  • Security and dependency updates on a schedule.
  • A change queue with clear turnaround.

What we will not promise

Outcomes depend on your data, team and adoption. We scope after discovery and do not guarantee rankings, revenue or timelines in advance.

Common questions

Do you take over a website someone else built? Often yes. We review the code, hosting and backups first, then agree what we can safely maintain before any commitment is made.

What happens if the site goes down? Monitoring flags the outage, the issue is investigated against the agreed response target, and the cause is reported back to you in plain language.

Can I still edit my own content? Yes. Maintenance covers the platform and security; day-to-day content stays in your hands unless you ask us to handle it.

How an engagement runs

Discover, propose, deliver, support

The same four stages apply to every Incipit practice, so you always know what has been agreed and what happens next.

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn the business need, the people who will use the result and the constraints, before any solution is proposed.

  2. 02

    Propose

Scope, milestones, responsibilities and ownership are agreed in a written proposal.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Work is built in milestones. You review working builds and approve each stage before the next begins.

  4. 04

    Support

Handover of code and documentation as agreed, with maintenance and support available afterwards.
